DIY: Elbow Patches Sweater

Hey guys as I promissed a few posts ago, here's a tutorial on how to make your own elbow patched sweater! Enjoy!

First of all here's what you'll need:

1. A longsleeved sweater, it can be old or new, I used this old one I had from H&M that I didn't really like, but you can use a new one. Works either way.
2. Scissors.
3. Needle.
4. Pins.
5. Thread (I used green one)
6. Paper.
7. Enough fabric to make both patches.

Aquí está lo que vas a necesitar:

2. Tijeras.
3. Aguja.
4. Alfileres.
5. Hilo (yo usé verde del color del sweater)
6. Papel.
7. Tela suficiente para hacer ambos parches.

Ok now you need to really make sure the fabric you chose is enough for both arms, you don't want to have small patches do you? I used some leftovers I had from my sequined clutch.

Now you'll need the paper, pencil and maybe a ruler. The next thing you gotta do is more o less measure your elbow, to see the lenght of the patch, you need to do it while bending your elbow, and after that you'll have to draw an elipse on the paper of the dimentions you want the patch to be. (I hope I'm making this clear and not just rambling)

You'll get something like this:

Debe quedarte algo así:

Now that you have your little pattern, all you have to do is pin it to the fabric and cut both of these.

Like these:

Así:

Next step, is you put on your sweater (and you may need a little help in here, I did) put your patches where they're supposed to go and pin them, carefuly so you won't attach it to your elbow too!

Once you have the patches secured to the elbows you can take it off. Careful to not make them fall.

And as a final step you just need to saw them. And Voila!

Results are here.
